Taylor Schilling of “the Orange Is the New Black” fame
Taylor Schilling won the hearts of many audiences when he enacted the character of Piper Chapman, the captive, in “Orange Is The New Black.” She had her first acting stint while in middle school in the “Fiddler on the Roof.” She also starred in a range of college plays at the New York and Fordham University.
The start of her acting career
Taylor Schilling found out acting while she was in middle school. Her appearance in a Fiddler on the Roof produced fuelled this passion. In 2006, she got a bachelor’s degree in performing from Fordham academia. She followed up by attending graduate school of New York academy ahead of deciding in a full time acting career. Schilling’s film debut was in Dark Matter in 2007, which also starred Meryl Streep.
Synopsis of her acting career
Though her film debut was in Dark Matter, it was in 2009 that Schilling was successful in landing her first key TV part in the Mercy, a medical drama that was short-lived. She fared somewhat in movies. She starred in The Lucky One opposite Zac Efron in 2012. She also enacted the part of the wife of Ben Affleck’s in the film called Argo in 2012, which was critically acclaimed.
In 2013, Schilling began playing Piper Chapman on the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. Her part in the series was highly commended and the series gave her career that much needed boost.
In 2014 she was a nominee for Golden Globe’s finest Performance by an Actress in any TV Series – drama.
